Armageddon
Can Bruce Willis and friends save the Earth in time? The Plot: A huge meteor is heading for Earth, so big that if it hits the Earth then all life on this planet will be destroyed. There is only a short time before the inevitable, and the American government is desperate for a solution to stop the meteor. Meanwhile Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis) is on his oil rig, getting annoyed with his daughters boyfriend whom he hates, because of one big mistake he made. Then government
officials took Harry away and told him what was going on. They wanted
him, with his drilling expertise, to go on a mission to fly to the
meteor, land on it, and drill a big hole in the rock, so that a nuclear
bomb can be implanted into it to explode it, splitting it into two,
with the two parts diverting around the Earth rather than hitting
it. Harry said he will do it so long as he chooses the men to go with him, others he trusts who can drill. The government has already stolen his invention for the ultimate drill, but they cannot get it to work, so Harry fixes it for them. The other men are called in and trained for space flight. They, along with real astronauts, are to fly in two specially-modified space shuttles with the drilling equipment and bombs on board. Meanwhile small parts of the meteor have landed on Earth already, Paris and other cities are totally destroyed.
The others return
to Earth as heroes, as the meteor splits A very good film, long, very exciting, kept me interested the whole way through. I had no idea how it would turn out and was pleased the way it went. Very well done.
